Her Blankets

by Amberinaa   Nov 8, 2011

Woven in her blankets; they will protect her from her fears,
she tries to fall asleep so she can sleep away her tears.
The wind, it sings a quiet song and brings her so much pain.
It lets her hear the loneliness that whispers to her brain.

The day has slowly died and brought the dreaded cold
The moon just sits around and waits, in time all will unfold.
Her fingers grip the blanket, she hugs them all so near
if only love was simple and the heartache part was clear.

A tiny little tear escapes from the corner of her eye
will this finally be the time, when she decides to say goodbye?
Her little hands are shaking, as the words play through her head
all the things he's promised her and all the excuses that he's said.

Another lonely empty night, more thoughts creep in her head
her fragile little body, in their lie filled king size bed.
The blanket keeps her tucked in safe, his love now dead and cold.
Her thoughts are all she has, now that he has someone new to hold.

Her blankets know the secrets; the wind sings its quiet song
Tomorrow, no one will know that anything was wrong.
A sparkling little diamond that's bound in a silver band
sits heavily upon her fragile little hand.
