That is so touching. I thought the poem at first is about the movie, Dear John.. but then I felt some bitterness as I found out it's about your brother.. It's really so hard, the farewell, and you kind of portrayed that flawlessly with smoothness and rawness.
I liked, much, this write, especially how you intervened Lebanon ;)

This poem was so moving. I also thought the same as the above commenter that the poem was going to be about the movie Dear John but I was wrong. This was about your brother and as I said it was a very moving poem

    Abed & Jenna,

Thank you so much for your comments and your votes. I really appreciate it.

I've just edited the details at the bottom of the poem. I wrote this for my uncle who passed away two months ago. He has family who live overseas who weren't with him when he had the accident or when he passed away. I wrote it as if I was looking through the eyes of one of his sisters who lives in Lebanon.

    Thanks again guys!

I'll simply start of with the poem itself, it is well written. That's partly because of the good rhyme and flow as well as the emotions. I thought that you managed to give the reader the possibility to feel the emotions you felt. The content gets to the reader even more because of the perspective you wrote the poem in.

I am sorry for you loss and he will rest in peace. I know it's easy for me to say that you should keep your head up, but I wish you the best and hope that the situation will be bearable.

I'm speechless.... This poem is so beautiful, so raw, and filled with so much emotion. I am so sorry about your uncle, may his soul rest in peace... This poem was a beautiful tribute to him, and it was very sweet. It really touched me. I think it was good and therapeutic for you to mention his struggles, and how it was difficult to make the decision to remove the life support. I can't imagine how difficult that must've been.
    Amazing poem!
