Black Ice

by believeinlove87   Nov 10, 2011

On a cold snowy evening,
roads covered with black ice,
impossible to be seen,
going to fast around the corner,
their car flips, crashing into a tree.

Crawling through the broken window,
screaming for help, bawling her eyes out,
limping around to the other side of the car,
asking baby are you okay? please be okay,
silence fills the air, feeling his neck for a pulse,
the love of her life has faded away.

Running out into the road,
stopping an oncoming car,
tears streaming out her eyes so hard,
her voice is a jumbled up mess,
finally getting out please help, call 911,
the ambulance soon arrives.

On a cold snowy evening,
laughing with the person who means most,
an unexpected accident, a life taken away,
holding onto his body refusing to let go,
not wanting to say goodbye,
she watches as they take him away.

Whispering...
"Why couldn't it have been me?",
she falls to her knees crying,
wishing god had taken her too,
a beautiful time turned into a deadly night.
