Don't Lose Control

by Meme   Nov 11, 2011

Try and catch your
true reflection in every
move you take, every
decision you make.

Dont say its too late,
because only you
have the control over
the scenes of your life.

Rewind to the moments
you doubted yourself, to
the days where you thought
you have given it your best.

Play your highlights one
more time, but your failures
again and again, a lesson
taken with every mistake.

Pause right there and retrace
the steps you once walked
perhaps you can now see
where you stumbled once.

Forward your life to the path
you choose, not the one that
chooses you. Don't fall for the
wrong one.

Stop and think, every once in
a while look deep within into who
you are, to make sure you still know
is it still you in your reflection.

So very uplifting, for the lost, the unsure and the doubting folks in life. Also, humbling for the folks who never look back when they wrong others, or themselves. A very inspirational, introspective and innovative lesson for all of us, to pause when we do not know where to tread, to make amends when we make mistakes, and to learn from whatever life has store for us.

The 4th stanza could use some rewording, in this readerss opinion. Overall, a very mature and inspiring poem. 5/5
