MelodicReplay

by Lindsay   Nov 11, 2011

People that keep on talking have nothing to say
their words are grey from monday to friday
its the way they sway, a melodic replay
until it loses meaning and becomes too cliche

that is how he was, saying all the right things
saying them sweetly alongside his greetings
whispering sweet nothings into my ears
telling me he loves me all through the years

a melodic replay is what it became
with time lost its meaning and became just a claim
there was no love, just words to fill holes in my heart
empty promises clung to my hopes as we'd depart

and that was just a start but my love was strong
it would try to convince me that nothing was wrong
but deep down I knew I was shackled and caged
my subconscious self was annoyed and outraged

and its true what they say, the truth sets you free
i am no longer a girl that you thought that i'd be
ambitious and strong, full of promise and light
now i am assured that my instincts were right

I deserve something real, nothing shallow and fake
There will be no more sorrow, no tears or heartache
Someone who knows how to love not just what to say
For facks sakes I don't need any other melodic replay
