In Your Mirror

by cierra   Nov 14, 2011

Call me a liar,
Call me a cheater,
Call me a criminal,
Call me a deceiver.

I have seen all the world,
And vacationed in Hell.
I have played tennis with angels,
Sat by your God, as well.

I am the one
You scream and rant to.
I am the one
You beg and plead to.

I have lies
All over my face.
Look how awful I am;
What a disgrace.

Yet here I am,
Watching you crawl.
Flush with the ground
to which you had fall.

And here I am,
Holding out my hand,
Covered in another's blood,
so that you may stand.

And stand you have
Now years later.
So proud and beautiful,
Never another greater.

You look to me now,
Sitting on my throne,
And my, I must say,
Look how you have grown.

You, like no other,
See who I am,
Not the lies on my face,
Neither lion nor lamb.

But the human nature
complete and true
the hatred and mistrust,
and the love from which they grew.

I am the anger of a monster
the joy of a child
the fear of an animal
torn from the wild

I will destroy
all that you love
and I will be the help
Given from above

really, in truth,
If I must say,
I am the person
In you mirror each day

*no offence to anyone religious*
