Fighting Fear

by Brittany Penrod   Nov 14, 2011

Pain is surrounding me
Smothering me, I fill like I'm drowning
Reaching for the edge as it slowly slips away inch by inch, torching me as i Fall into nothingness,
sinking into its bottomless pit
Stings here and there, sharp edges everywhere
Cutting deeper, hurting more and more
Falling even deeper than before
Down, down, down I go down into this deep dark hole
Where there is nothing good nor nothing bad but nothing to see at all

Slowly I open my eyes and fight the fear for I no longer want to be here
Little by little I see the light and thrust forward with all my might
Ignoring the stings here and there, sharp edges everywhere
I see the most wonderful light start to appear
As I slowly reach the top I say a pray to the almighty god
Thanking him for all I got and the courage to fight all the bitter darkness the world has got!!
