When I was five...

by DirtRoadGirl   Nov 17, 2011

When I was five I'd sit on the siwngs,
and watch the teenagers hang.
So young and egar to spred my wings,
I craved a place within their gang.

I'd watch couples kiss,
and marvel at painted eyes and lips.
I wanted their lives of hit and miss,
and have boys dangling from my fingertips.

Then came the day,
I got my wish to join that mighty gang.
I didn't know then I had no say,
in what it really ment to "hang".

It wasn't always the couples to kiss,
and pain was covered with painted eyes and lips.
I'd cry with every hit and miss,
and break with every wave of a hurtful boy's fingertips.

I learned life is not what it seemed,
when I was sitting on those rusty swings.
Now every dream I dreamed,
has been crushed since the day I spred my wings.

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it.

Today I have stumbled across so many beautiful poems, but this is till now THE BEST!!

One thing only: spread, not spred.

Other than that, omg,, those changes between the beginning and the end. It's like learning from mistakes, but in a melodramatic way! I LOVE it. On a swing at first, envying... then at last, on a swing, regretting.

How dramatic the scene is!! Did I mention that I love it.. ?? :)

-i love this, saying how since you joined the gang all your dreams are gone.

People can relate to this. Wanting to join a group so badly, then as you do you realize it isn't worth it.

    Amazing Poem<3
