Politico

by End Of Eternity   Nov 19, 2011

I am sword's peace
I am gunshot's silence
With my holy thoughts
I worship violence

Bouncing crystal ball
Won't change my fate
Chosen by common man
With command to hate

I deceive with honesty
I abide law of sins
Within my sacred blood
I breathe for needles & pins

Ruling weak souls
Living free in cages
Freedom vanished with faith
Power shines for ages

Wow this poem was amazing. I really felt it, and love how you wrote it. Your words were so powerful and you created brilliant imagery. I love the contradictions in your metaphors...

Politicians all around are the same, they give out promises but never live up to them. Each verse you have penned, paints a perfect picture of a corrupt and deceiving politician. Excellent write!

I like the contradiction used to describe the swamp that is politics. Swords peace, and gunshot's silence, the play on words is amusing.
The thoughts holy, worshiping violence is pretty much the truth.

This stanza clearly states how the citizens have elected the political demon, unaware of his intentions.

This stanza is quite the slap on the face. I have nothing to say about this stanza, it is self explained and needs no elaboration.

I deceive with honesty - Such simplicity, yet it reflects the horror perfectly.

    Ruling weak souls
    Living free in cages
    Freedom vanished with faith
    Power shines for ages

^ Ruling weak souls - does justify the circumstances created once the politicians are elected. People are resilient by force.

Living free in cages - I interpret this line in two ways. One - Politicians living freely within the boundaries/cage of politics and breaking all the rules and laws with no fear. Two - People are like the animals in the zoo, unknowingly carrying an illusion that, they are residing free, even though they are free only within the cages they are confined to.

Freedom vanishing with faith - merely states that the faith entrusted upon our chosen electives backfires once the power is lost to those who have won the election and will soon deprive us of rightful democracy.

    Long live corruption, hehe :P

Very well written Nitin, must say you are one hell of a poet, speaking boldly into the face of the bad.
