Hide Behind Memories

by xoxShorteexox   Nov 21, 2011

If I could hide behind my memories,
and get lost in those old photgraphs.
I would be forever stuck there,
the place where we met that day.

I was staring intently at the sky,
when a stranger wandered by.
Attempting to hide from the world,
you slowly walked towards me.

The place where I hide in little things,
with the silly jokes and sad songs.
The place where you found me,
laying there underneath a tall oak tree.

If I could hide behind my memories,
and get lost in those old photographs.
I'd still be hiding somewhere so deep inside,
when you were still there next to that tree.

I don't think you meant to have two "be"s. :] Take either out and it'll be perfect.

I really like the vintage feel to this poem. It makes me think of the past. Lovely poem!

Wanting to get lost in the memories & not the future. Wishing that he was there right with you making new ones & not looking back wondering
