Yes, you held my mutilated heart.

by Poet on the Piano   Nov 21, 2011

My yellow hair wakes you up,
platinum waves cascading down
like the meteorite moon
onto your legs-
that have made me a mechanical
masterpiece.

The pieces of dawn
are erosive,
I feel myself crawling out of my
vanilla cocoon,
unfolding the curtains
that once became a catch
to my body's function.

The sun bleaches
my arisen chest,
opening up the soft crevices
underneath,
of
your obsidian skin....
repeating the memory
of being
tender from where you
impressed yourself.

I see no fracture in our
fairytale;
but your -eyes-
make me feel
alienated.

(and how can I keep
the moment, where you washed me
like an angel on your knees).

Your tongue inflames
me in a terrorizing
instant.

It's alive-
and your body melts
further away,
into it's own
early grave.

It can't love you-
it's all I hear
pulsing
thrashing
knocking
against my
pruned ankles.

Your heart bled for me
on the day I was born to be,
without you.

My gosh this poem is good. It sets an awesome tone from the very start and it is intriguing but never lets go of the interest. You have a wonderful talent because there is so much shown in this piece alone. Imagery that has been used here is absolutely stunning as is the word choice. For sure I have to give this a 5/5

This is a excellent piece. it's dark and chilling and full of exciting imagery. It is like a mystery that captivates the reader. Good poem.

MaryAnne... Amazing as always. I have missed the darkness and the shivers you give the reader when you dress your words with a black veil. So one can only say: Damn it, you're really got a hold on me, by your words.

mmm.. what enticed me the most was the atmosphere, emphasized by detailed descriptions which thickens the volume and depth:

    meteorite
    cascading
    mechanical
    crevices

^ I think alongside these also, that the motion is very clear and which turns those emotions into reality.

And it's always in the twist in the end that you create.

It always appears that it's an open-end.

    Amazing, as always :)
