State of Health

I do not have a fever
yet I'm burning inside.
I'm melting with my tears
as my emotions engulf me.

I do not have a headache or migraine
so why is my head pounding?
why can't I focus on a single word?
My mind falls down the ladder of stress.

I do not have a sore throat
yet I cannot murmur a syllable.
My nostrils are working fine -
so why am I unable to breathe?

I do not have a chest infection
but I can no longer feel my heart.
I do not have physical bruises
yet I bleed internally...

and no one suspects a thing.

    This is a great piece. Its hard to express how you are feeling to anyone. Sadly many people are going through this. Its hard to talk to anyone you are feeling so down, and it is sad when one knows.
