Christmas

by Something Diabolical   Nov 27, 2011

Slay bells ringing on top of your house
Santa is coming, hurray!
No creature was stirring, not even a mouse
He's taking you children away!

For good ol'Saint Nick is not what he seems
Searching for childlike prey
Capturing kiddies and haunting your dreams
Making you believe their ok

Santa replaces your child, with an elf he has made
Looking exactly the same
The elves perform their perfect masquerade
Slowly deceiving your brain

He captures your children for one reason alone
To power his magical slay
He feeds them to it, how is unknown
This is the price you must pay

So lock up your chimneys and hide under the bed
Santa is coming to town
No more toys and presents, if your children are dead
Christmas will finally shut down

After Christmas has ended and he's finished his haul
Claus sings to the dead of the night
Hohohohoho
Merry Christmas to all!
And to all a good fright!

This was bizarre in the best possible way - daring too, considering how people feel about xmas and children! Suitably dark and well written.

This was awesome. really. i have this thing where i re-write children stories like this and give them a darker atmosphere, so i really enjoyed this one a lot, to me this was really funny.

    I agree with lioness...
I found it a bit freaky and it was a good poem overall...

You know th is poem to me reads a little Christmassy as well as something out of the bible. It reminds me of the story where the first borns are taken away from the parents.

This poem did kinda freak me out considering I do love christmas (though I don't believe in Santa of course)

Maybe that was your intention... to freak us out :D if so well done

    if not

Not so much dark I don't think, there was a hint of comedy in this, I think you took the meaning of christmas to a place unknown, and maybe I don't want to find out.

The flow was good and rhymes were okay,
I just don't know what to say.
    Creepy
