Damsel in Distress

by PinkyPrincess   Nov 28, 2011

Just another damsel in distress,
lost and confused about life,
hoping and praying for the best,
but still anticipating the worst.

Still waiting for a prince...

She swivels around the forest,
hoping to find something magical
But wait - she thinks to herself,
kissing a frog will not make him a prince.

She wanders by her lonesome,
searching for a safe sanctuary.
But she is trapped in nature,
whispering to the lonely wild.

Who will come to her rescue?

She embraces every opportunity
with her honeydew smile.
She learns how to survive
after thoughts of quitting.

As she ponders, she realizes...
the prince will not come.
She must rely on herself, but most importantly
she is more than just a damsel in distress...

I found this inspirational. Its such a sorrowful poem but it ends in realization, that the pricne isnt cmoing along and this damsel can pick herself up, some how , some way because after all, you always have yourself :) I liked this poem, and the meaning of it. Great job :)
