Pen to Paper

Lying here in my bed
With all these feelings in my head,
Remembering how you said pen to paper
Helps to heal the pain and make you feel better.

Opening up is hard for me
I cover my emotions and upset so you don't see.
I am not quite sure what to write or say,
Other than that I think about you every day.

Taking your advice, I type these words
Not caring if it doesn't flow like songs from birds.
You see me as a best friend and say you care
But the love I have for you I can't compare.

After the passion and intimacy we had together
I fell for you, and will live with this forever.
Like nothing I've ever felt before,
Just to be friends kills me when we could have been more.

I was there for you when he passed away,
