I Can No Longer get Over You

by Kips2.0   Nov 28, 2011

It was the dawn of a sweet relationship,
as our love bloomed like the shinning sun,
light comes crystal clear on our friendship
and I thought something new has just begun.

Love does not cost a thing
but there is always a price to pay;
it can be expressed in the song you sing
or sometimes in the words you say.

Your smile lightened my night
but your grief darkened my day;
your tear drops became my plight
and it flooded my fun away.

You gave to me your word
but took it back again;
and when you broke off the cord,
you left me in great pain.

I wish it was a different story,
since my world revolved around you,
but now it is too late to say sorry,
because I can no longer get over you.

    The transition of tones went so smoothly. From a sweet love story to a bitter ending of a relationship. Nice..
    Okay, honestly? I've been looking something to critique haha. Here it is: I advice you to make the title more interesting or thought-provoking. Something that is attention-grabbing, perhaps?
    Other than that, a little typo on shining there. Amazing job as always. Keep writing :)

    Thank you for your comment. I'm still recuperating from the hurt. I'll get over it, but it will take some time.

    Aww this poem started out sweet, but ended sad! I still enjoyed it. I loved the first stanza, and I love how it was "the dawn of a sweet relationship" and "love bloomed" .. great choice of words!
    The first was definitely my favorite... Well done! =D
