A Revolution Blues

by Ramblings of an ageing Kid   Nov 28, 2011

Well I am singing the blues
For the cold nights I spent in fear
For a life so nigh and the death so near
For the blood got spilt and that hefty rear
And the years to come

I am singing the blues
For that blackened and darkened glee
For the sun that refuses to shine so we can see
For the guardian angels pointing their guns at me
All the wars and bombs

So won't you sing along?
My brother in the world of myths
Where the good overcomes
And the villains are long lost
Spun and entwined
By chains of trust
They gave away to the sea

Won't you walk with me?
To the valleys of insanity
Where we all become one
Facing the gores of vanity
Insatiable it is, his democracy
So let it be.....
An end to his autocracy

Still singing the blues
Can't help but wonder why
His temptation I can't deny
The patterns of his ivy in the sky
Still leading me on

And when my mind rusts
And my heart wilts
And my thoughts stray
And my ashes are washed away
My dreams shall crawl out of me
And one day shall prevail
Oh my dreams shall prevail

I love this poem, I think it's unique and has a strong message. I love the title "Revolutionary Blues" it definitely caught my eye. The poem itself felt like it could be turned into a bluesy song (maybe you should try turning it into a song!). Amazing poem!!

love it. all this hope and beams of light in the end..... lke a phoenix, you'll rise from the ground, or even comes as a million, one more time.

Very inspirational. I wonder how it sounds when sung.. great job.
