Composing The Deep-

by Poet on the Piano   Nov 29, 2011

I once perceived you as a flurry of chormatic
scales, audibly falling onto the bridge of my lips
and the boughs of unfurled trees....
words closed off but sounds open to testify
around the white discord beseting your chest.

I see you as the snow, because though you walk
heavily and glide softly, it is that contradiction
that keeps me at an interested distance-
like I am cross-legged near a frigid hearth,
settling into the coziness of home life and yet
unable to hold back amazement at the frost.....
duplicating the alabaster atmosphere.

How I am declaring myself impacted
by the mind of you, by the gleam of your
thoughts.

From the window you look out of
and the gaze you contemplate every moment,
I can not deny that you and I are
dazed by the cryptic cyrstals forming around us,
and the stereo of snow's first track
that lifts us up then lets us drop to the deep.

I love this piece, everything about it is so amazing it really is perfect. It is odd and out of place at first but then everything makes sense. The word choice is fantastic, and it really makes the whole theme of this piece so great. There is vivid imagery and description with so much to tell. There is a rhythm through the piece that is unusual, yet remarkable. All in all, I love this piece. 5/5
