Mask

by ButterFly01   Dec 3, 2011

Everyone wears a mask,
A pasted smile on their face,
Secrets untold and hidden pasts,
Lay beneath the mask.

Behind the mask,
We are all vunerable,
Others aren't who they appear to be,
Because we all wear a mask.

To be ourselves would be hard,
So we hide behind a shell,
A shell to cover ourselves from the world,
And hide our shame,
And we never take off the mask to expose our real selves.

I love this piece cause it is so right. However, some people really are themselves, and haven't warn a mask ever. If you find those people I am sure you will see they are some of the happiest people around. Anyway excellent piece, amazing use of description and the word choice is amazing. 5/5

Cause when we reveal ourselves the real us has flaws and everyone is afraid of their flaws. :)
