Angelous Mortis

by Reverence   Dec 4, 2011

Last night i had a dream
and it changed something inside of me,
I dreamed about a silent knife
that took sheath just to the right.

In my chest the blade held,
and by my hand this action fell.
The End found home inside my heart,
for there the sting never strayed far.

As I breathed my final breath
and as my heart stopped in my chest,
I closed my eyes and ceased to live
there in my slumber the dream was hide.

The shroud of darkness came creeping in
but, by pale blue light my eyes open.
In this state of aftermath,
I hear no sound and see no act.

Yet, by a hand not of my own,
I'm raised to a place i dare not go.
for, my heart still bares this scar,
I dare not go to this place in the stars.

Struggle as I may with all my might
I can not stay here, in this afterlife.
Yet still i grabe and cling to this earth
For, it's all that I know, this house of dirt.

Please tell me why Oh immortal being!
Why do I keep eyes of sightless seeing?
Oh, why do I stay in this place of sorrows
when all I see is a painful tomorrow?

Why can't I slip away to a better place
when all that is left is to finish the race?
I will take the road of the greatest peril
When all I can see is the end of this barrel.
