Eighteen Feet In The Air

Eighteen feet up in the air,
looking at her moms nitch,
reading the dates of her passing,
remembering vividly the day she found
out her mom had passed on.

Tears start rolling down her face,
as she whispers I miss you mom;
why did you have to die? I need you,
dropping to the ground crawling into a corner,
she replays her last memory with her mom alive.

Yelling, screaming, refusing to hug her,
moving away to the other side of the country,
abandoning her mom knowing she might not live long,
trying tough love to get her addiction to stop,
looking back in the car, not realizing this will be
the last time she ever sees her alive.

Eighteen feet up in the air,
feeling every ounce of pain shes been ignoring,
standing up on her two feet, wiping away the tears,
she tells her mom i love you more then anything, I'm sorry I left; I'll never forgive myself for that,
placing her favorite white roses in the holder,
she walks away whispering I wish I was a better daughter.
