Knock knock...

by Someonethere   Dec 5, 2011

Knock knock,

Hello!

My name is depression,

Today I have information for you.

Sorry to interrupt,

Your diner or your other activities,

I'm sure you have other things to do,

But I thought I'd still try.

So today your eyes,

Maybe will finally open wide,

Because Madame and Sir,

You should take a look at your daughter.

Do you remember her eyes in the morning?

So red and it seemed like they cried?

Do you also remember just thinking:

Oh, she just forgot to take off your make-up.

Well I'm here to say,

She cries herself to sleep,

Too much pain she carries,

So she cries until she can't anymore.

Do you remember,

The day she looked sad,

Do yo also remember thinking:

Oh, she just received a bad grade today,

Anyways, it's not that bad.

Well I am here to say,

Today your daughter had plans,

She wanted to be dead,

And she was planning on doing it herself.

Now do you remember,

The cuts you saw on her wrists,

Do you also remember thinking:

Oh, it was just the cat bitting.

Well I am here to say,

The cuts were made by herself,

When the pain gets to much,

She does hurt herself badly.

Do you remember,

When she lost interest in everything,

Do you also remember thinking:

Oh, she's just another teenager with no point in life.

Well I am here to say,

You are right,

She lost her point in life,

She doesn't want to be there,

She lost interest in living.

Do you remember,

The day she tried to talk to you,

Do you also remember thinking,

Oh, she's being a drama queen.

Well I am here to say,

She needed help from you,

You let her down and lost her trust,

By laughing and saying:

Stupid teenagers these days.

Do you remember,

When she looked so tired,

Do you also remember,

Screaming at her to go to sleep early.

Well I am here to say,

Your daughter is tormented,

It's not her fault it's mine,

But you just don't see that.

Do you remember,

When she slowly started to eat less,

Do you also remember thinking:

Oh, she's just not hungry.

Well I am here to say,

Your daughter needs medical attention,

She's starving herself,

Striking for the impossible perfection.

Do you remember,

When she started to forget everything,

Do you also remember thinking:

Oh, it's just an excuse for the things she forgot.

Well I am here to say,

Your daughter has trouble concentrating,

She has too much going on,

She can't concentrate on one thing for too long.

I'm really sorry if I interrupted,

Your daily life and plans,

I just thought you would like to know this,

I thought I just try again.

Because it's not the first time,

I knocked on your door,

But you were too busy to listen,

So today I am happy you finally got the message.

And please,

Don't blame your daughter,

I am responsible for all of this,

And you surely didn't help.

Ma'am and Sir,

Next time listen to your daughter,

When she's screaming for you,

Listen, don't shut the door

Interesting... Not very creative but nice all the same. Great choice of words! It was a bit long.. If i actually had to rate it i would say 3/5.

Dang, this piece is... wow. The emotion and descriptions used are immaculate. It seems a little long, but other wise I was intrigued and enjoyed the piece so much. You have done an excellent job penning a piece of perfection. I hope to see more from you soon.
