I Don't Need Pity

by Jess   Dec 6, 2011

Try to write a poem worth reading,

Worth an average person to give;
two minutes out of there busy lives.

To read something close to my heart.

In all honesty, would be everything to me.

I know, sometimes I have bad days.

My life has been busy, and scary.

I don't have to explain why,
why my life has been put on a stand still.

I don't need pity, I hate pity.

If I had to ask for one thing,
Out of the world.

It would be acceptance.

I've always had trouble fitting in,
Not because of typical reasons.

It's because I have trouble,
trying to let anyone into my life.

I like to think I'm not scared of anything,
I am bulletproof.

If you knew me at all,
You could see that inside I'm falling to pieces.

I'm not a poetess,
I don't know how good my poetry is.

To be honest, I don't care.

Writing a poem is about speaking to yourself,
showing others who you are.

One thing I know, I am sure of.

All of my poems tell a story of my life.

If that's not what poetry is about,
then I don't know what is.

You know I truly like your view of poetry. I always thought poery should be an expression of ones feelings and they shouldnt be critiqued unless trying a new form. I liked this free verse/rant and how you spoke your mind! Very interesting piece :)
