Solitary Shell

by Kuro   Dec 6, 2011

Trapped in my solitary shell
A prison I call home
Looking for self confidence
Nobody to call my own

Longing to feel complete
An empty void consumes
Hope drains with each new failure
Flower of vanity blooms

Living in my personal hell
It is hard to understand
Why God would wish this fate on me
The flames of despair have been fanned

Loneliness brings no comfort
Solitary brings no peace
Cursing God for this cursed life
And denying my release

When hopelessness and loneliness engulfs us we tend to imprison ourselves in that world and it is only us who can break out of it..maybe it is a test from God to see you grow..take care my friend.

We humans are a prisoner of our self created prison. Only we, can break through the barrier we have fabricated to shut out what we're afraid of. Too often it is depression or a notion of being lonely and too often it is self pity, where one is sure that he does not deserve all that he is bestowed upon with. But eventually, this phase passes.

    Very well written bro.

Can relate to the hopelessness and loneliness expressed in your poem. Have been feeling the same since I left Florida. You captured this emotion very well here.

This poem was intense! you really captured what it feels like to feel alone and depressed. I feel moved by this poem and think it is such a beautiful piece even though its very sad.
