All The People You Overlook

by xoxShorteexox   Dec 7, 2011

There's a girl you overlook everyday at work,
who has been battling her own addictions; haunted by,
her arms that are always covered with long sleeves,
from her nights of weakness with that razorblade.

There's a boy you pass by on the morning drive,
his eyes are always glued to the dirty sidewalk,
searching for the respect he can't seem to find,
no matter how many times he fought men for it.

There's the alocholic you always groan about,
who's tried to put the bottle down so many times,
without success of getting his feet on the ground,
he tries with all his might to stay away from it all.

There's a woman that smiles at you in the elevator,
who's always been sincerely interested in who you are,
each time she stands next to you; she tries to speak,
her sentences don't seem to form just right with you.

There's a man who pushing himself around in a wheelchair,
you always push by him in your hurry into the office building,
he fought for you, for our country and you don't stop say thanks,
he's so lost inside trying to find out why this happened to him.

Then there's you, the man who's so consumed by his own problems,
who doesn't even stop to think what does all these signs mean,
so wrapped up in all the paperwork that comes with the job you chose,
you lost your chances to help people who were in more pain than you.

    This touched me :)

Brilliant piece. So true with every word you saying. That just because you're having problems, don't overloook everything around you. You never know what could happen if you give it a chance.

    Flawless masterpiece(:
