Tonight my soldier left me, for a year maybe more,
I long to feel his touch, to see him standing at my door,
The army called and away he went,
All of my love, and my heart I sent
He's out there protecting me and you
A job he loves, and is proud to do
And though we are far apart,
I can still feel him in every beat of my heart
So tonight when I get into bed
I'll repeat the prayer I've always said
"Lord please protect my soldier, and bring him home to me"
A life without my soldier, is a life I do not wish to see.
So hold him close and in your arms,
Please keep him safe, and away from harm,
My soldier means the world to me,
This poem was written in hopes he'd see
That I love him more than he will ever know
And my love for him can only grow
I love you, I can't wait for you to come home
Please remember to thank, and pray for our soldiers, this poem was written for my solder, my hero, and my love.
I love you William Cory Stein, thank you and everyone else for fighting for our freedom.ÂÂ
