Cigarette-Scented Fingers

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Dec 9, 2011

Your cigarette-scented fingers, touching my lips..
And the shiver it sends within,
Holding my waist, caressing my hips,
Here in your arms, yes i win.

Swimming in the brown sea that is your eyes,
Holding your hands secure,
Here i am, untainted by your touch,
So sinful, yet so pure.

Your cigarette-scented fingers,
Touch me with all their might.
Show me how we belong to each other,
Let us embrace the night.

Write my name on your heart,
For you to know how much i care,
In case we ever grow apart,
With every beat, you'll know i'm there.

Your cigarette-scented fingers,
I smell them and close my eyes,
I thank God that i have you,
With a smile and a happy cry.

*To O. I love you.

It is sometimes strange the things that remind us of one we love. Your words give me an image of a woman, eyes closed, arms hugging herself, remembering those fingers that smell of cigarettes and the thoughts and emotions that they bring back. Well done.
