All The Poems

by Melissa   Dec 11, 2011

All the poems I wish your lips could feel,
to taste their raw discontent
and chew each one
as though it were an ice cube
melting
past the tip of your tongue

Inhale the frigid air
of all you will not say,
my, how silence can freeze
even the warmest dream

I wish you would speak to my words,
just sputter about like August
as though a nest of wild verbs
have gathered themselves in your mouth
and cannot not be said

Nothing hurts more than what you could've or should've said. Silence is often so painful. This is just so moving.

I can relate to your words. Silence freezes so much.
