Christmas Lights Maze

by xoxShorteexox   Dec 11, 2011

Walking through the Christmas lights,
that lit the archway of the entrance to the park,
smiling faces slowly making their way ahead,
staring at the colorful shapes gleaming.

All the happy couples walk by the lone girl,
as she constantly looks over her shoulder,
searching for the one that caught her eye,
stars shining brighter than this lighting maze.

Families singing Christmas carols passionately,
fitting each of the Christmas shaped figures,
children giggling as they throw snowballs,
playfully through the five golden rings.

The lone girl still slowly walking by herself sighing,
staring at her boots sliding slowly through the snow,
using the snow on her shoe to kick towards carolers,
if only Christmas could bring her lone wish to life.

As she reaches the exit of Christmas lights maze,
she turns around and looks up at the stars so bright,
making a frowning face up at the snow starting to fall,
as she makes her wish once more for fear of being forgotten.

This is a sad christmas poem.

All she wants is to find the one person who catches her eyes. But instead she is left alone, walking by herself kicking the snow. Repeatedly looking into the sky wishing to be remembered instead of feeling alone this holiday season.

    Love it :)

Some poems are sad, others touching this one if beyond what the heart can bear as far as the sadness you penned. Emotionally touching Excellent
