Faces

by Yakari Gabriel   Dec 15, 2011

We flirted
yesterday,
today,
and we'll flirt
tomorrow too..

two silly girls,
fooling around..
between foolishness
and cyber kisses

you make me red-
often when,
the phase of our
conversations
take odd turns.

we change topics,
..quickly
whenever it gets too
serious..

and I giggle,
with my seductive
little words..

as I wonder,
what faces you make.

You make poetry look so effortless. I love that!

This piece flows perfectly and is so relatable. I'm not tripping over big words or odd metaphors just sailing through your adorable words.

I could take this for what you say at face value, but I feel like there is much more to it than what is actually said.

I feel like it's knowing someone, predicting what they will say, but also always being surprised (faces they make). Sometimes you think you know someone and then the things they say or do (whether good or bad) are so surprising and 'not them' that it takes you back a little. You probably wrote this off of the surface meaning, but I definitely pulled more out of it :) Love it!
