Black and white wings

by Steven   Dec 15, 2011

Heaven rarely speaks
mostly sunny skies and rainfalls
it's rare to ever see an angel in reality
maybe if one to lose their mind
they could capture that essence of an angel

the mind became a paper cage
i could walk out anytime
and never look back on the history
I'm still standing still and never moving
wondering if someone can save me

open the door to another world
i lost myself in a dream that never ends
my angel with white wings
lost her soul to the corruption of life
tainted with the influence of society and it's gossip

she turned on her innocent life
in pursuit of the darkness that changes our minds
her wings changed that very single day
black and white wings gasp the essence of flight
hinder by the weight of the world on her mind

she prays each night
for a better tomorrow in sight
she cries each night
for someone to help her out of this state of mind
the candle light blew out at that time

she took her courage
and cut the very rope that tied us as a whole
for reasons that I'll never understand
good-bye and good night
I'll never see my black and white wing angel again

now i sit alone outside
staring up at the dark night skies
living the mortal life
wondering each day and night
praying for that better life

tonight heaven speaks for the first time
it was the first moment i realized
that i would never see her again
she was already out of my life
this was the life that followed
a feather falls gently from the heaven skies
with raindrops along it's side
i guess it was time
to say my good-bye
