The Normal

by Brittany Michelle   Dec 16, 2011

Smoke goes through the air as another puff has been taken; it's blown in my face. I take all in and wait for the horror that seems to be my life. Another puff beneath the smoke and an evil grin appears like the cat from Wonderland but this is no fairytale this is my life. This story cannot be told to children at bed time. They wonder why I love the same sex other than the one that I am suppose to love. You may be asking that now as I mention it on this page. Childhood memories are dancing not so gracefully in my head of the norm and perfect. "You are not perfect," I was told. Just because I liked to look at the body parts that I had, how is that not the 'norm?' Who can actually define "Normal?" Not I who till this day saw herself as a low life that knew that she different from the 'norm' but now I actually can stand proud and tall and say...Yeah, I am NORMAL...I am who I AM...nothing can change that. So next time you want to know the NORM! Look at the ones that believe in themselves and is not afraid of society. You people that call a man and a woman normal and perfect? Just because a book tells you, did you know that "BOOK" was written over and over? Who says that he didn't accept everyone the way they were...Gay, Lesbian...STRIAGHT? You think that the one puffing the smoke in my face is the devil? NO, you are oh so wrong my dear... it's YOU that disagree with living life the way you want to just because someone is happy with a person of the same sex. So, you can blow your smoke in my face try to scare me... I will sit here and laugh because I am not scared of you... I am NORMAL ... and you'll have to accept that!
