Hurricane In The Horizon

by believeinlove87   Dec 17, 2011

Hurricane in the horizon,
100 miles per hour winds,
ripping up trees out of the ground,
water getting sucked up into the storm
a deadly catastrophe on the way.

Everybody running for cover,
locking the door down into the basements,
avoiding all windows, backed into a corner,
families holding on for dear life,
saying a pray to keep them safe.

Outside goes completely silent,
little do they know, that's when all
hell breaks loose, cars in the air,
roofs getting ripped off the houses,
heavy downpour of rain flooding the streets,
and this is just the beginning.

Hurricane in the horizon,
destroying everything in its path,
causing millions of dollars worth of
horrible damage, peoples lives savings
completely gone down the drain,
lifting the lid to the basement,
walking into the aftermath of the
worst storm to hit land.

I know that these Hurricanes can be so destructive but nature can be quite amazing.

You really nailed it with the picture here hun, describing what it would be like to live through one. I have never myself but reading your poem - made me feel like I was there.

I loved how you said completely silent - made me think of THE EYE OF THE STORM where it goes quiet and then BAM! Everything starts up again.

I love watching documentaries on Natural disasters

    Well done babe
