Number Forty

by sun spots   Dec 22, 2011

It,s been far to long but those years have flown.
And we have both matured and grown.
I hope the love we had then, is still the same now.
And i,ve made a vow i will have you somehow.
To many things are filling our heads.
We sleep bad at night when we go to our beds.
And the day,s getting closer when we will see.
That maybe our love is still meant to be.
It,s tearing my heart up to think it may end.
My heart has spent years trying to mend.
But if you decide you could be with me.
I would do everything to make you happy.
You would not regret the choice you had made.
Have i convinced you or should we still wait.

Though this poem speaks of love, I feel sadness while reading it. A sense of love that lingers about but just out of reach.
You penned the emotions well, and wording was clear. Well done
