Young Tycoon

by Larry Chamberlin   Dec 24, 2011

When I was 13 I lied about my age
to get a job at the theater;
so proud - seeing all the movies
and getting paid for it later.

My first paycheck I stopped
to buy from a broker with hope
two shares of insurance stock -
blew the rest on a microscope.

The stock increased until
in hard times was cashed to pay rent;
that money is gone, but I still have
the science kit - first best investment.
