Solstice

by yogi73   Dec 26, 2011

Does the winter wind
know the nature of my adoration?

Does the winter wind
know it can pull a teardrop
from my eye.

Darkness is light to those
whom cannot see.
The solstice night
is a time of change
my winter fades quietly.

The winter winds blow
and she's surely taken my heart
tell her always
I'll miss her so.

What I like about this poem is that the winter wind can be taken into two ways. Actual winter wind and a woman.

Winter is my fav season :D

    Does the winter wind
know it can pull a teardrop
    from my eye.

I love this - it is what makes me think of the season and a woman. When it is really really windy, your eyes can tear up if you're outside. Or your girl can make you cry

    The winter winds blow
and she's surely taken my heart
    tell her always
    I'll miss her so.

The winter wind has come and gone and now you miss the winter wind. Woman or season?

I love how it can be both

Hmm..sounds like during this joyous time of Christmas, the one you love is not near and to associate it with winter..a season where the cold brings a blanket of loneliness when there is no warmth by the side. That is what I felt as I read this..a beautiful sad poem..take care and keep penning :)
