There are so many woman (and men) that go through this and it is so heartbreaking.

The way that these people control their partners is shocking. Depriving them from seeing their family, their friends. The physical and mental abuse that these people go through is unbelievable. I feel so sorry for people who are in abusive relationships because in the end they are so scared for their own life, they don't want to leave. They also believe they love their partners.

You have really expressed this in the poem. The whole part about having denial is so true.

I think it is a well written poem, very vivid and raw. I think it's great that you have expressed it like this because it really does show the truth of things.

It's really sad that so many people are willing to go through this for "love" or what they believe love is.

Abuse is not love, it's a person controlling someone enough or making them afraid enough never to speak out about what is happening. The abused keeps making excuses for the abuser or they just keep saying they love me and I did this or that wrong and that's why they hit me.

It's sad that people will keep letting someone beat them because they believe that their abuser actually "loves" them or can "change."
