Cutting

by Amanda   Dec 29, 2011

She watches blood slowly fall from her wrist onto the floor while tears stream down her cheeks. She wants to stop, but everytime she tries something else happens that makes her turn right back to the blood stained blade.
She covers the scars with long sleeved shirts and braclets hiding them from friends and family, not wanting them to worry.
She is ashamed of what her life has become always turning to the blade for comfort.
she wonders when the small thread holding her pitiful life together will finally break.

    Hi Amanda,

I like the imagery set in this poem. It is very dark and sad with a lot of emotion.

I think this poem would look better spread out over some stanzas which will make it easier to read.

The poem itself was great. I am sure so many people will be able to relate to this poem.

If this is you, I am sorry you are going through this.
