New Eve

by Michael D Nalley   Dec 30, 2011

You could have been a New Eve
Remember you were so cute?
When we almost made believe
Twas good to eat the cursed fruit?

Must I beg your proud pardons
While we kneel before our Lord?
At gaurded gates of gardens
Protected by angels' sword?

We've celebrated love born
before Eves of each new year.
I recall faith being torn
prior to hope easing fear .

Our passion would somehow burn
on the road to no return

I loved the openning Stanza, especially the last line.
"Twas good to eat the cursed fruit? " The question mark added some extra factor to it.

Now this was my fav lines
    "We've celebrated love born
before Eves of each new year."

As usual dear friend, an amazing write from an incredible poet.
