Running, Just To Stand Still

by Jenni Marie   Dec 31, 2011

Walking such a lonely road
This desolate path leads to nowehere
Constantly questioning, second guessing
Was it real, or did you never really care?

Surrounded, yet feeling so alone
For they could never truly understand
Suddenly, I've become so lost
And just want someone to take my hand

Whisper softly that it will all be okay
Soothe and comfort me, as noone else will
For I don't know where to turn, what to do
Trying to run away, but only standing still

And if they knew what went through my mind
Would they stop, and try to be there
Or tear me apart, following your footsteps
By admitting, no; they never really cared.

An emotional write that brings something out for the reader... that feeling of being completely stuck and not certain who to go to. You penned this so deeply- straight from your soul and loved the whole them you brought out. I agree- that the title was original and you gave that whole atmosphere of wanting to do something but still being lost.....
Great work again- so many of your poems the emotions just captivate me, they are a real work of art :)

Wow. This was so emotional and I can just tell you poured your heart out. It was something I could really relate with. Sometimes we question if someone really cares and are afraid to even ask. What caught my eye the most about this poem was your title, it was very unique and a poem in itself. I really enjoyed reading this poem and even after a couple of times of reading it, the emotions still packed a bunch. Very well done.
