Is There a Reason?

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 1, 2012

I have no signtature in ink
that says I am bound to you,
but believe me when I say
I'd walk oceans to never lose you.
When I am away, and the only
remembrance of you is a faint
melody you always sing....
I can't let go of our friendship.
Each dusk, maybe you think of me.
Maybe you realize how much
we've grown--together.
Maybe I'll show you that there
doesn't have to be a color,
there doesn't have to be a name
for the way I think of you.
I worry for you, that you will not
find your own happiness,
but if I am to be in the dawn of it,
please know it's all in my heart.
There is no fire or smile I can portray
that could possibly give a reason
as bright and shining as why
I love you.

I could get from this tender poem with all its sensibility and consideration that you do not need to make excuses for the lover on why you love him... I love the 'ink' part and the 'ocean' and the image of 'growing together'.. as if you're proving for him something he doesn't know. What a piece of rawness and organic emotions. Great job:)
