What it means to miss someone

by Julie   Jan 4, 2012

When you left me at the airport,
I was standing there helpless in tears.
"it's not going to work out" you said,
You didn't dispel my fears.

You knew that I would be waiting
In spite of the miles and time.
I guess loving you endlessly
was my biggest and reckless crime.

Every morning waking without you
I felt like a ghost half-alive,
I tried to move on and forget you,
But I needed your touch to survive.

And now I'm getting your message
"I miss you, I wish you were here".
Why are you doing this to me?
My heart is so easy to tear!

You don't have a clue what "missing" is
You don't love, you just know how to hurt.
I'll tell you what it means to miss someone,
How to fight but not to desert!

Every moment with you was a treasure.
I miss every word, every smile,
I miss how you slept on my laps and
I miss stroking your hair meanwhile.

Every time I look at your photo
I feel like empty inside.
Because you conquered not just my body,
You caught my soul and my pride.

I am like a slave but without a master.
Let me live, let me breathe!
Because every message you send me
Makes my heart suffer and seethe!

Now you know what it means to miss someone,
It's like loosing your heart piece by piece,
And the only thing that makes me
Whole and alive is your kiss....

I don't really know what to say to this poem...it's too deep.

Every single bit of the poem has great messages.

I am like a slave but without a master.
Let me live, let me breathe!
Because every message you send me
Makes my heart suffer and seethe!

I like this part the most.
