The clock

Tic tak tic tak
says the dutiful clock.
waiting, again waiting,
alone and doing nothing.

writing lines, writing,
to allow time in passing
while waiting here, sitting
still this pen keeps on going.

tic tak tic tak
said the clock;
dutifully doing its task,
never knowing when to stop.
