Reconstruction

by Beautiful Chaos   Jan 6, 2012

Sometimes you feel like....
A repairman
Sent to fix this broken girl
Repair her damaged life

Most days
She wonders what she did
To deserve you
This light
That you have brought to her eyes
Her mind

You snake into places I don't want you
Until you arrive
And then
I wonder what took you so long
What took me so long

I wonder how I can fear something
Something I have waited so long for
Maybe it's piecing myself back together
Touching places I've never wanted to see again
Attempting to view them from a new perspective

You feel the way I want to feel
You make me feel as I always should have felt
Maybe the scariest place to be
To feel like you actually have something to lose
Unsure if you know how to keep it

Bound to self depreciating thoughts
Lingering scars of the past
Remembering what it was like to hurt
A reminder that failure is always possible
And this would be epic

I fall to your touch though
Fighting to escape it all
To piece this broken girl back together
To trust what I see in your eyes
What I feel in your touch, lips and words

You drip through me
Like a faint morning dew
Glistening in the light of a new day
Saturating me with hope

^^ I loved how this was penned

This whole poem was a bit sad to me. I loved how you wrote it, it was just a venting session yet with a poetic twist.

New love is scary, but I like how there was a glimpse of hope at the end and a willingness to change your fear. This was a great piece!
