Diabolical plan

Hers was a diabolical plan;
executed perfectly.
So believable to the outsider
but not to me. Or him. Or her.
Damaged beyond repair.
She protects herself
by hurting those who love her most.
That's all she knows.

She's all alone now.
She lets no one near.
Her lies are her protection.
She manipulates others;
always in control
so she can continue to go on.

Her innocence was stolen.
Her dreams haunted by something or
someone that takes on different forms.
Too difficult for even her subconscious
to face. She doesn't understand.
Fantasy and reality are one.
She trusts no one.

Every action is planned
for the reaction. The high.
That's the only way she can feel.
Feel something, anything but the
horror that replays constantly
in her mind.
No one can ever know.

She drifts from place to place
keeping no one near for long.
Too blinded by the hate to
see that helping hands are
there to guide her.
She stays out of reach.
Too scared to face the truth.

The lifestyle she leads
is deliberate.
The cycle wont repeat.
She wont let it.
She exists as a shadow
never revealing her true form.

She says she wants to live
but no one hears.
Her plan was diabolical.
This time unbelievable.
No one will ever know the truth.
Her pain is over.
