Gone are the days

by amber   Jan 8, 2012

Gone are the days when I woke up next to you
In my satin nightie and give you a kiss on the forehead
Gone are the days you would kiss me back too

Gone are the days you would prop me up on the bench
While you made coffee
And while the kettle was boiling, I would wrap my legs around you and whisper 'I love you' in your ear
Gone are the days you would whisper 'I love you too beautiful'

Gone are the days we would laze about on the couch wrestling and tickling each other, kissing each others neck and playfully biting each other until I would collapse into you
Gone are the days you would collapse into me too

Gone are the days you would undress me and put me in the shower, I would giggle and pull you in with me, we would relax and unwind and talk about the day ahead, until I pulled you close and kiss your soft lips while the water tickled our faces
Gone are the days you would wait for me to get out and wrap the towel around me

Gone are the days we would joke about having a family until one day I found out I was pregnant and couldn't wait to tell you, you would have been over the moon and wanted to come back from Afghanistan earlier
Gone are the days that you were a hardworking soldier.....

These days, all I have to do to make myself smile is look into our daughters eyes. She looks more and more like you everyday

Emmy says, I love you daddy. I smile at her and tell her it's not the ending, it's a new beginning xx

(please rate and comment as I am new to this, much appreciated)
