Lights years away

Sometimes i sit here and think about you
wondering what it would be like if it was still us two
these years have past and you still sometimes slip in
there's no way i could talk to you and it wears me thin
this new years i sat there and your face came to mind
i reminisced our night together, love we did find
its funny to think of how life changes and where we are
i often think of you and you feel so far
sometimes i hope we would just see each other in town
but then i realize thats not how the world goes round
we used to be so close but you feel light years away from me
i wish that somehow we could just see where we could be
i find myself trying everything to forget you for a year
but forgetting you hurts, i always shed a tear
