This is My Life (Sleep's Departure)

by Freeze Tyler   Jan 11, 2012

Staring at the wall until
My eyes get so heavy they fall
and I can fall asleep
For the first time this week,
I'm not weak and can push these
Canteens full of emotion
Into their cage so I can catch
Forty-Five minutes of rest;
This is my life.

I see her in admiration
And my exaggeration of her qualities
Still couldn't over state her enough
To fit the cuff
Of those arms she holds me up with.
I stare at her eyes, her hair,
That little stare she gives to tease me.
I'm staring at the tits of a lesbian;
This is my life.

I've flipped this pillow six times
As if there are more sides
Than the two I see,
Listening to I love Lucy
On the tv while I sleep
Has made me listen more than dream;
This is my life.

Now I dream more than listen
To the boring spitting of words
And yadda yadda yadda,
Quite frankly I just don't care,
So I day dream and beam
My ship into La-la land and rest for a bit;
This is my life.
