Boredom

Boredom

Business and boredom in contrast,
neither of them can be over past,
for when I lie to sleep on my bed,
thoughts creep into my head.

She said, "Eenie meenie miney moe
tell me what you want to know."
I answered, "All I want to do is play,
because life is all for me to enjoy."

She replied, "Stop being a dork,
you have to get up and work."
I ranted, "All work no play
makes Jack a dull boy!"

There is nothing wrong
with watching TV all day long;
I just hate to get busy,
because I'm outright lazy;

Now I have all the time to myself,
I will not visit the bookshelf
to get a novel or story book to read,
instead I'd grab my pillow and knead.

I thought if I can escape getting busy,
everything will become very easy;
but in seclusion my mind wanders away,
and my hairs began to turn gray.

Soon, there is no one to play with me,
awkward loneliness is all I see;
I was hoping to find freedom,
instead I'm entangled in boredom.

    Somehow your poems have a way of shutting me up lol. Usually, after reading a poem here and I come across this box, I am soo talkative haha. But your poems just speak for themselves.
    Critically, there's nothing to comment. So let me just say: great work. Keep it up :)
