One Tear From a Soldier's Eye

by Ronnie   Jan 11, 2012

The trumpet sounds
Penetrating his armour
Forged from a thousand shields
Of guarded pride and honour

The command reverberates through
To the cog master
In his slumber
Idle for years
Fearing his redundancy
Now aroused but startled
Terror and compassion in his eyes
For the task he must perform

He stirs the fluid
With his enchanted staff
Grown from a splinter
of the Queen unicorns twisted horn

Arousing the pure essence
Confined for years in this reservoir
Concentrated and strengthened

Awaken my friends
He mutters
As now your time has come
To be set free

He signals the ox
Strapped to the cog wheel
With one raise of his spidery fingers
With a huff and a gruff
The beast meets its footing
And the cogs begin to grind

The reservoir empties
They screech as they flume
To form up in their chamber
Of deliverance

The flag is gracefully folded
The coffin is tenderly raised
Possessing the empty weight
Of his spiritless brother

The unison crunch
Of a thousand steps
Blows colossal horns roaring

And the lever is pulled
As the cog master
Stoops his head

And torrents of love, hate and passion
Glide and flow
Swirling as they slide
To the lip
In the bowl of his eye
Resting on his lash
Formed up in their ranks
Ready and strong with pride themselves
And Honour from which
They were once created

The clap of his lids
Squeeze out his pain
Sending the teardrop to the air
It shrieks while it soars
Descending in fury

The heavens alerted
Their angels deployed
To catch this defying blow
They dive and they swoop
And hover in its way

But it holds too much power
For any to clasp or bear
Breaking their undeserved wings
Smashing through their barriers
Of mindless ruling,
Dictatorship
And whitewashed beliefs

Heavens final brace
As the ending sneaks closer
They too were forewarned
To build the ark
Through his prayers
To the Gods he once believed in
To keep him safe from evil
Love, Honour and Obey

Its impact is thunderous
As Mother earth greets it
Openly
Also poisoned by this neglect

Shock waves of floods
Burst through the frail walls
Weaving the pillars of Babylon

Now feel the true wrath,
Is Murmured within the fibres of
One tear from a Soldiers eye
